Variety of cool stuff I came across at the GNRS

Made me laugh

Really great look, I don't think I've seen a steering wheel like this before

before the Garmin, early primitive man had a MAP! This mounted clip board seems to be function and utility for a rally

great collection!

The shifter know instead of the normal handle is a cool touch, the white walled red rims with beauty rings are damn good looking too

the Streeet Sweeper made by Slim's Fabrication, this van does effin wheelies!

Advertising your work doesn't get much more permanent than welding onto the bumper... and it's how I could find more info on the builder... so it definitely works

The Van-Go... cool, very cool, from the "Cars Not Culture" guru of Church magazine, Coby Gewertz

Vanadu Ford - Post Apocalypse Gothic Hunter Camper

I am not sure which category to put this Ford Van called "Vanadu" in, but its definitely Post Apocalypse Gothic Hunter Camper.

You start with the fencing up on the roof with a broken spire that looks like a grave site. And various decorative flourishes scattered around to give it the Gothic retro look.

You continue with various car parts welded together, fins, grill, lights, vases, horns, chimneys, lamps, and bars over the windows to give it the "I just survived an atomic blast" apocalypse look.

You then move to the rustic hunter elements with large moose antlers on the roof, mounted fish and deer antlers on the inside. I think I saw an old pistol hanging there to round out the hunter "I am going to get those mutants" motif.

All this wrapped up in a ford Econoline camper that looks like it has some empty spaces to be completed at a later time. I contacted this person for more info but did not get word back, so I made up my own story. Don't get me wrong, this art van rocks and I am sure its very cozy in a Post Apocalyptic Gothic Hunter way.

Nancy Reagan Art Car Billboard

uploaded by ehoyer.

Here is an art car with a giant photo of Nancy Reagan on a van totally protected from towing, wheel booting and vandalism. Its in San Francisco so I guess it needs all that, but I am not sure the purpose of it all.

Some of the most unusual photos show up on Tumblr sites... but it takes a lot of browsing

Who decided that an elephant needed to be jumped over with a truck? Well I was too busy to do the homework, but the photo was such a hit that Brian at Bangshift.com delved into the history books to see what was going on http://www.bangshift.com/blog/Photo-of-the-Day-A-1957-Ford-Truck-In-Flight-Over-an-Elephant.html
