2010 Audi A8 Photo
Audi A8 comes in two variations: the normal wheelbase 4.2, and a long wheelbase 4.2. The direct-injection 4.2-liter V8 produces 350 horsepower, which is routed to the ground by a six-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. Optional tech features include a Bang & Olufsen sound system, solar-panel sunroof, dual-pane security glass, blind spot and lane assistance and adaptive cruise control. Anti-lock brakes, electronic stability system, active head restraints, LED brakelights and ten airbags are some of the standard safety features on the A8.
For 2010, the W12 model has been discontinued, the LED daytime running lights from the W12 become standard on all A8's, and the trunklid from the S8 is now standard on all models.
The A8 comes standard with a six-speed Tiptronic automatic and the fourth generation of Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system. Inside, a five-channel surround sound system with five speakers and tuning by Bose, a navigation system and Bluetooth connectivity is standard, along with Dual zone climate control.
A choice of three opulent interiors costs $11,500 each, with a 14-speaker, near 1,100 watt $6,300 Bang & Olufsen sound system as the second most costly option. A Sport package will set buyers back $4,000 and get them multi-spoke 20-inch wheels shod with summer only performance tires, a more aggressive tune for the air suspension and a three-spoke leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.
